Richmond Park, at almost 1000 hectares (2500 acres), is the largest Royal Park in London and is home to around 650 free roaming deer.

The pastoral landscape of hills, woodlands, ponds, gardens and grasslands set amongst ancient trees. Richmond Park is the largest Royal Park in London covering an area of 2,500 acres.

We convinced Travis and Zoe to wonder around the park and in particular head towards Isabella Gardens.
To get to the Isabella Gardens we had to go through a living archway.

From its heights there is an uninterrupted view of St Paul's Cathedral, 12 miles away. There was a telescope which was pointed through the gap in the hedge so you could see St Paul's.
This is our attempt at trying to catch this view.
Just in front of the telescope there was a few lines of poetry.
From here we walked passed the grounds keepers house; a beautifully thatched cottage.
The Isabella Plantation (http://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/richmond_park/isabella_plantation.cfm) is a stunning woodland garden which was created after World War II from an existing woodland, and is organically run, resulting in a rich flora and fauna.
In the garden is a lovely pond where I decided to feed the birds some stale bread.
