Tuppence To Cross The Mersey

Most Ozzie kids (and their parents) were subjected to this horrid book as part of their schooling so when we were presented with the opportunity to take the ferry on a round trip across the Mersey we just had to do it.

On this occassion it was overtaken by a small band of pirates; one of which had a rather large pet rat (no parrot). Zachary was intrigued by the rat and eventually patted it. He was also given a pirate flag and hat to wear as an honary pirate.

Mike and Zachary went exploring the three levels whilst Alexander entertained the people next to him.

The whole trip took an hour and was fairly uneventful (except for the pirates).

Liverpool

We went to Liverpool over the Easter break and stayed in Albert Dock (the regenerated dock area).  This area was also where all the museums were so we were able to walk around to everything.  This was handy as it was very cold.

There were several statues including one of Billy Fury (a British rock star).

Beatlemania

You cant go to Liverpool and skip the various Beatles exhibitions and landmarks.

It was hard to take pictures as the lighting was very dark and Alex kept bouncing but a couple came out ok.

Zachary even had his own audio commentary which he diligently carried around.

Did you listen to music in these booths when you were younger?

We then went to various memoriable Beatles sites.

The Craven Club was where they played and like all good night venues was tucked in a tiny alley way.
