On the weekend we went to Hertford and decided to do the next stage in the renovation of our friends place.
This consisted of us repainting the front (lounge) room to transform it from Magnolia (yellow) to a more neutral Chocolate and Cappachino combination.
The most shocking experience was discovering the current 'white' ceiling was in fact so dirty that it was grey and only looked white against the yellow. Even the yellow was extremely tired and dirty.
Once we'd painted the walls with the cappachino paint and white base coat we noticed that the railings blended easily into the cappachino colored walls. This was frightening as we'd not painted the railings. 
The first coat dried overnight and we gave the room a second coating on Sunday morning. This time we put the chocolate on the bottom third.
Even with only one coat of chocolate (below) the room looks fantastic.
Whilst we were painting the Wayward Child's partner cooked a fantastic fry up. It consisted of bacon, eggs, and sausages. This was topped off by bakery fresh bread cut into thick 1 inch slices. Oh, and fresh brewed coffee. mmmmmmm.
BTW - you can see that the cappachino was used in the kitchen. As the kitchen and the lounge room flow into one another the color scheme in each room now links and complements each other.
Down stairs is now complete.

Our next mission is to lighten up the interior stair well (this is a dark red color) and repaint the bedrooms a more neutral color. One is orange and the other is a dark purple.
Yes, each room in this place was painted in bold colors which deliberately clashed with the next room(s).
