BBQ

Being in Australia we were required to attend several BBQ's.

This is particularly hard on us as we love BBQ's.

We stayed over at the Maloney's so there was no rush hence the flowing of the beers.

Our friends son had been given a t-shirt (as he's half Irish) from friend.

Scenes of Melbourne

We decided to wonder along the Yarra river.

It was a lovely Autumn day.

We started at the Casino and walked to Batman Parade bridge.

It was amazing the amount of change.  It's now quite different from what we grew up with.

What was really interesting is that Melbourne, like all of Australia, has fixed BBQ's which are either free or minimal charge.  They can be used by anyone and encourage people to linger and enjoy the outdoors.

Moondah Beach

Every trip to Melbourne requires us to get wet.  In particular, at the beach.

We went to Moondah beach which is a relatively unknown beach which effectively means it's relatively private.  It has about privately owned 30 changing boxes/huts; all beautifully maintained.

Whilst there we witnessed a lovely sun set.

Just where the sun was setting were a flotilla of yauhts which looked beautiful.

Unfortuantely, you cant see them in the photos.

Hello Grandad

I was lucky enough to see my Grandad whilst in Melbourne.

 It was a real pleasure.

Painting
Our friends whole house was decorated in the 80's and as such has the most horrendous color scheme.  For instance the kitchen was sponged red, the lounge a weird yellow, the hallway was dark blood red, one bedroom is dark purple, the other bedroom is dark orange and finally the bathroom was a hideous yellow.

We decided to finally tackle the hallway and the bathroom.  This came after our success with the kitchen and the lounge room (see Renovations parts 1 and 2).

The hallway was particularly necessary as there wasn't a light there so walking down the stairs at night was extremely dangerous.  Any light which did enter the hall was sucked away by the light absorbing blood red painting.

CRASH PAD
Everyone knows that we are DIYers.

Well here is a place with our name on it that we could renovate.
