THIRTEEN

Daisy was thirteen this week. Officially a teenager.

We went to visit her to sing Happy Birthday.

For her birthday, Daisy got a massive bunch of flowers and some Ugg boots as well as a cake.

For Valentines Day I was served breakfast in bed.



In addition, I received a beautiful bunch of 12 long stem red roses.





I was also taken out for a romantic dinner at Saran Rom (http://www.saranrom.com/html/restaurant.php). A beautifully decorated Thai restaurant which is situated on the Thames river at Wandsworth Town.

WANDERING IN THE WHITE WORLD

Today the majority of workers and school children couldn't get to work/schools due to the constant snowfall during last night and early this morning.

I was one of these people. My issue was that the way I went to work was not viable - buses and trains cancelled and I couldn't feasible walk to Canary Wharf.

When I called in there was only 5 staff members who had managed to get into the office from my department. Most of these people were able to get in before the cancellations or walked from their homes in the docklands. This was worse than during the 7/7 bombings.

I ended up doing some work at home but as I had a very bad cold it was a bit difficult. The consultation was that I was indoors and warm; not to mention, I didn't have to endure the transport system.

I did however, venture out at lunch time (in between snow showers) and took some more pics of our local area.

Oddly, it was hard to get photos without people in them. It appears that everyone had the same idea - go out and play in the snow on your unofficial day off work.

People weren't on the play equipment however, they did make snowmen wherever they could. The parks were littered with various sized snowmen.

One enterprising group of kids decided that an orange ball would work well in the snow as a soccer ball. They then played soccer for an hour or two on the park's pitch.

Others were making snowmen with their parents. Often these were so big that they were taller than me. Often the people had given up after making the base. Some had been destroyed by rivals.

It was nice to see everyone out and enjoying the weather.

Unfortunately, there is always the exception. The local CHAVs offspring decided that throwing snowballs at each other was so 'yesterday'. They brought the game into the 21st century by throwing snowballs at passing cars.

The most frightening part of this behaviour was that no adult was willing to confront them and tell them that this behaviour could result in a car accident. People just walked on by; some even laughing when cars screeched to a halt.

Me being me, did confront the 20 strong group aged between 10 to 15. This was met with abuse of various types (swearing, yelling, plus more). They did not move immediately, however, when I walked past the area 5 mins later they'd moved on. I hope that they'd not just moved up the street.

MORE SNOW!

Overnight it continued to snow resulting in quite a deep layer in our courtyard.

By 9am the roads had some traffic but as you can see it was not nice to drive on the sludge.

Even our bin had a good layer of snow!

It does show how much fell overnight.

IT SNOWED IN LONDON

I mean it REALLY snowed.

In Fulham it started snowing about 6pm but initially it didn't stay on the ground. However, by 9pm it was beginning to gather on the ground.

We were impressed as it was the most we've seen.
