DUXFORD AIRSHOW

We went to Duxford Airshow (http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/) which pleased the boys no end.

Whilst there we saw a plane which was the same as the one Jim and Kath travelled to Australia in.
It was definitely a trip down memory lane.

















For posterity we took photos of the seats which they would've sat in. I even took pictures of where Paula slept during the flight.














Here is an example of early marketing by the airlines. The plane was a VC10.


I managed to get a couple photos of the planes (and their admirers).


Most of the aircraft (and associated vehicles) were inside the hangers; some dangling from the roof. A few of the bigger ones were outside.





We all know that war planes were painted with pictures of their girls. This one was a little more risque to the point where everyone noticed it. Even a little boy asked his father why the picture had no clothes. ;-)

Then we watched the aerial display by a variety of aircraft. For five hours.








At the end the Red Arrows did a wonderful display. Photos don't really show how good it was.
