VOLUNTEERING

I volunteered to be apart of a work sponsored day at a local primary school. Our aim for the day was to set up, run and clean up after, a school fate.
The school was typical of one situated in London i.e. large old building (approx built in 1800's) with a tiny amount of outside space (all of which was concrete). It was hidden away behind the surrounding high rise flats.

We started the day by hearing what we were in for and a cup of tea in the schools tiny library. It was a bit difficult sitting on the tiny chairs.

As some of the signage was tired a few of us decided to create new posters.

Now we set to and started putting up our signs.

Precisely at 2pm the school gates were opened to the public. We each manned a stall.

Most of the stalls had very simple games but were hugely popular. For example, the Treasure Island was an old suitcase with a lock on it. You had to pick a key out of a bag of keys. If you were lucky you could open the box and then choose one of the 'treasure' items inside.


One of our colleagues bravely volunteered to be put in the stocks and get wet sponges thrown at him.








At the end of the day we got a couple of group shots.
