SHOPPING
In each village there are a variety of places where you can purchase the goods you need.

Admittedly, the higher up the mountain the more expensive the items become. This is partly due to the extra transport expense but also due to the fact that the closer a shop is to the mountain's ski lifts the more prestigious the shop.

.

The exception to this is the markets.

These are literally on the edge of the slopes and are tents (to stop the wind and/or snow falling on the goods).

.

There was a variety of goods from hats and gloves to sweets and trinkets.

Being France there was of course, cheese.

In one of the tourist junk shops was a selection of t-shirts. These are a couple which we found intriguing (not being able to read French).
